We are not just temporary housing, but a place where some life skills can be obtained, so that our residents can better themselves.
All women are drug tested at entry and will be randomly tested if needed. There are rules they will have to follow while at the shelter and chores to be done. We want to set an example in the neighborhood, and we start by the appearance of our own house.
We partner with the Tulare County Employment Connection to provide career training and the women use our computer lab for housing and job searches. We work together with the social workers from the Tulare City Schools, the Department of Public Social Services, and other local agencies in order to facilitate a transition to self-sufficiency.
